BC INCREASES FUEL TAX
British Columbia increased tax rates on fuel, including gasoline and diesel, effective July 1, 2009. Gasoline is taxed 3.51 cents per litre and diesel 4.04 cents/litre.

ALBERTA BANS ILLEGAL ARMOURED VEHICLES
Alberta has amended Vehicle Equipment Regulations under the Traffic Safety Act, banning illegal armoured vehicles. Armoured vehicles can now be required undergo safety inspections.

NISSAN WILL PRODUCE PROPOSED ZERO-EMISSION VEHICLES IN THE U.S.A.
Nissan North America (NNA) will build zero-emissions vehicles and lithium-ion batteries at its Smyrna, Tennessee plant. The U.S. Department of Energy conditionally approved $1.6 billion loan for the project.

HYDRO-QUEBEC AND FORD JOIN TO TEST ESCAPE PHEVS
