CHRYSLER's NEW 2012 RAM CARGO VAN (C/V)

Chrysler unveiled the all-new 2012 RAM Cargo Van (C/V) with new interior and exterior design, new grille, badging and wheel covers.

RAM will feature solid sliding-door and rear quarter window privacy panels. Optional combinations of the solid and glass panels are available.

New to the RAM C/V is a flat load floor with choices of structural aluminum rear load floors. Both have a flat, uninterrupted, high-capacity surface; however, one comes with through-the-floor access to two storage bins and third row storage and floor-load tie downs.

Ram C/V is equipped with a 3.6 litre Pentastar V-6 engine providing 283 horsepower, improved fuel efficiency, and a six-speed automatic transmission. A new heavy-duty commercial load-leveling suspension has been incorporated plus improved ride and handling capabilities.

“We were able to apply the engineering expertise found in Canada’s number one selling minivan, the Dodge Grand Caravan, to the Ram Cargo Van for small business and commercial use,” said Ed Broadbear, Vice-President, Marketing, Chrysler Canada Inc.

“With its class leading capability, fuel-efficient V6 and lower total cost of ownership, the highly versatile Ram Cargo Van delivers the optimal balance of durability, capability and innovative storage for customers whose jobs take them on the go.”

In terms of safety, RAM C/V offers front seat side-mounted airbags and a driver knee blocker airbag. Also offered is ABS, ESC. and active front head restraints.

The 2012 RAM C/V will be built at Chrysler’s Plant in Windsor, Ontario and goes on sale in the third-quarter of this year.
