FCA Canada Fleet Operations introduced the all-new 2017 Jeep Compass to select fleet customers at the Chateau Le Jardine Conference Centre in Woodbridge, Ontario recently.

Bernie Moorcroft, National Commercial Sales Manager, FCA Canada, enticed the audience with news about the Dodge Challenger Demon and presented the Jeep Compass and Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid to event guests.

"Our FCA Canada Fleet Spring Tour kicked off again in Toronto, with great attendance and an impressive lineup of new vehicles," said Moorcroft. "The all-new Jeep Compass was a must-drive. Our global compact SUV delivers unsurpassed 4x4 capability, world-class on-road driving dynamics, a fuel-efficient powertrain and premium styling. Also generating considerable interest was the all-new, made-in-Canada, Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid. It's a game-changer, being the industry's first plug-in hybrid minivan, with an electric-only driving range of 53 kms and a total range of 911 km. We're looking to repeat this event's success in Edmonton, Calgary and Montreal soon"

The presentation started with a bang featuring a video of the Dodge 2018 Challenger SRT Demon, touted by FCA to have the most powerful production V-8 engine in history and quicker than any other production car. 300 of the very limited Demon production will be available for Canada. For more prosaic fleets, two vehicles for consideration for selectors were on hand for close examination and discussion; the all-new 2017 Jeep Compass and the Pacifica Hybrid minivan.

Attendees were split into four modules for the event: Performance and Versatility, Capability and Technology, Dynamic Performance Drive, and Pacifica Hybrid information.

“The FCA New Jeep Compass Launch event was a fantastic introduction to the all-new Jeep line up. The Trailhawk’s off-road stability session was a key highlight as it provided a true in-car experience of the vehicles capability,” said Darlene Spriel Director, Fleet Solutions, Foss National Leasing. “ The all-new Pacifica Hybrid was a sharp looking new minivan that is going to provide optimum fuel savings for fleets in the near future.”

The 2017 Jeep Compass will come equipped with a 2.4 litre Tigershark engine mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission (for 4x4 models), or a six-speed automatic for 4x2 models, with a six-speed manual transmission also available. Safety features included are forward collision warning with active braking, lane departure warning with lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring with rear cross path detection, and rear back-up camera. Fourth generation uConnect is available in seven or 8.4 inch touchscreen. Two 4x4 systems are available, Jeep Active Drive, and Jeep Active Drive Low.

"Highly interactive demonstrations really brought the benefits of the technology to life. With the Pacifica Hybrid , FCA broadens the options for fleets focused on reducing their CO2 footprint and looking for the versatility of a minivan,” said Gary Bruce, Canada Sales Manager, Wheels Inc. “After experiencing the new Jeep I would say getting lost (on purpose) in the woods with this Compass would be a lot of fun!”

FCA will also host the Jeep Compass launch event at Edmonton Expo Centre at Northlands in Edmonton, Alberta on May 4; Spruce Meadows in Calgary on May 10; and Place Forzani in Montreal, Quebec on May 17.

"FCA continues to do an excellent job sharing their new product launches,” said Wendy Ladd, Account Executive, Jim Pattison Lease. "The displays were fantastic and the launch of the Jeep Compass definitely gives our fleet clients something else to consider this year. It’s definitely an exciting year for FCA.”
