The Work Truck Show was an ideal setting for FCA to launch the 2019 Ram 1500 Tradesman model. Put on by National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA) in Indianapolis, Indiana, the show is well attended by commercial fleet operators across North America, the target market for the Tradesman model. Valued for its price and capability, the Tradesman is a favourite among vocational customers. The 2019 model will be available in a variety of configurations.

“Ram launched the original Tradesman model in 2011, and our work truck customers have enjoyed Ram’s benchmark durability ever since,” said Mike Manley, Head of Ram Brand. “Ram has the highest owner loyalty of any half-ton truck and the Ram 1500 Tradesman model will continue to deliver confidence for hard-working people who rely on it every day.”

Tradesman will be available in Quad cab with six-foot four-inch bed, Crew cab with five foot seven inch bed, or Crew cab with 6ft 4in bed. Standard 3.6 litre Pentastar V-6 with eTorque hybrid system or optional 5.7L HEMI V-8 engines are available. Customers can choose the model in 4x2 or 4x4 configuration.

Standard features include a Class 3 hitch with lighted above-bumper four and seven pin trailer wire connectors, Uconnect 5.0 with five-inch screen, 12V auxiliary power outlet, three USB ports, automatic headlights, auxiliary port, choice of vinyl or cloth for bench seats for six passengers, 160-amp alternator, 730-amp battery, black, rear view camera, power door locks and windows, with locking tailgate and remote keyless entry.

Tradesman features a unique black grille and steel bumpers, along with a selection of optional features for those who wish to customize their work truck. Some options include anti-spin rear differential, real electric-locking differential, off-road package, 180-amp alternator, folding trailer-tow mirrors, spray-in bed liner, and trailer brake controller.
