The value of networking was the theme of an education seminar hosted by the Private Motor Truck Council of Canada’s Young Leaders Group recently.

“Those in attendance were able to learn valuable networking skills and were engaged in an experimental learning seminar by Kim Richardson and Eagles flight respectively,” said Mike Millian, President, PMTC. “It was a highly-energetic meeting that seem to be enjoyed by all.

The event kicked off with a presentation by Kim Richardson, President, KRTS, who discussed the importance of networking, having a mentor and reaching out to others in the industry.

"I am very excited as to where the Young Leaders Program for the PMTC is heading," said Richardson. "Our young leaders must be paid attention to ensuring the success of of our industry, the PMTC Young Leaders Group is heading in the right direction."

Next, Mike Millian shared his career story with the group. This session was moderated by Richardson, and a question and answer period followed, allowing attendees to ask both presenters career questions.

The final presentation conducted by Matt Hill from Eagle’s flight, was about the power of influence. Three main principles were discussed: the right approach, the right mindset, and the right skills. A group discussion followed giving attendees the opportunity to put the principles learned to work
