Chrysler Group LLC appointed Laura J. Soave as Head of the Fiat Brand for North America. Soave will work to integrate Fiat into sales, marketing, service and dealer networks. She will report to Chrysler CEO, Sergio Marchionne. “Her rich background will serve as a springboard for reintroducing the Fiat brand when it takes to U.S. and Canadian roads this December after more than a 25-year absence,” said Marchionne.

Chrysler Canada announces new fleet positions. Rhett Gerrard becomes Fleet Account Executive for Western Canada and Juan Gutierrez is named Fleet Account Specialist for Ontario and Atlantic. Gerrard’s focus will be on commercial, daily rental and government accounts, Gutierrez’s on fleet sales in Ontario and Atlantic Canada as well as providing support to national fleet office analysis programs.

General Motors Canada (GM) appointed Kevin Williams President and Managing Director, taking over from Arturo Elias, who moves to GM’s public policy centre. Williams most recently headed GM’s service and parts operations, he joined GM in 1983.

Wheels, Inc., appointed Daniel Z. Frank as President of Wheels Services. Frank will be responsible for enhancing both quality and value of current services, and for developing new products. He has been with Wheels for 11 years.

General Motors named Chris Liddell as Vice-Chairman and CFO. Liddell will head global financial and accounting operations for GM, reporting to Ed Whitacre, GM Chairman and CEO. “Chris brings a depth and experience to this job that were unmatched in our search for a new financial leader,” said Whitacre. Chris was recently CFO for Microsoft Corp.

ARI has promoted Roy Gaysek to the position of Executive Vice-President and COO responsible for sales, service and operations. Gaysek has been with ARI since 1993 and during that time held senior positions including: (VP, senior VP and executive VP) of sales and service. Gaysek reports to Fred Booth President. Chris Conroy has been named Senior Vice-President of Sales and Service responsible for fleet solutions, client services and account management. He will report to Gaysek. Conroy joined ARI in 1994, his responsibilities have included: district sales manager, director client services and sales development, as well as senior VP of operations. Both appointments take effect January 10, 2010.

Marc Vejgman becomes Daily Rental Account Manager; Barb Cooper, Business Development Manager; Reg Modjeski, National Account Manager; Mark Ostafin, Fleet Programs Manager; and John Kerr, Fleet Service Manager for Ontario.

The National Association of Fleet Administrators (NAFA) has appointed Hanan Bedri as Associate Director of Education. Bedri's background includes developing programs for not-for-profit organizations. "This is a wonderful opportunity to help NAFA provide fleet professionals with a worthwhile educational experience that not only contributes to the knowledge base of the individuals involved but also to the overall professionalism of our industry," said Bedri.

Deborah Whiton is Continental Tire Canada’s newly appointed Regional Manager. Whiton’s responsibilities include: overseeing replacement commercial tire sales to dealers and vehicle fleets in Canada; managing, training and supervising sales personnel; and developing ContiTread product sales in Canada. Whiton has gained extensive experience in the commercial tire industry. She reports to Shaun Uys, director of replacement tire sales for Continental – The Americas, Whiton is stationed in Toronto, Ontario.

She joined General Motors Canada on completing undergraduate degrees in marketing and economics at the University of Windsor.
