Steve Tudela has been named Corporate Vice-President, North American Operations at Enterprise Holdings Inc., (EHI). Tudela will be overseeing the Canadian operations for EHI.

Tudela has been with Enterprise since 1994, he has held a variety of roles within the company in Canada and the United States including in Toronto and Ottawa, Ontario. He most recently led the company’s operations at its San Francisco, California subsidiary since 2015.

Mark McDade has been named Director of Dealer and Network Development at Volvo Car Canada Ltd.

He will be responsible for leading and coordinating network development activities within Canada, act as main contact for Volvo Canada in all aspects of the network, and be responsible for developing and maintaining a strong retailer network and implement the retail strategy.

McDade has over 20 years of automotive experience with OEMs in Canada, holding various positions in sales, marketing, regional management and network development. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Acadia University.

Mercedes-Benz Canada has made a series of management appointments, which will be effective January 1, 2017.

Billy Rodrigues takes over the role of National Manager, Pre-Owned, Fleet and Remarketing. He has been with Mercedes-Benz Canada since 2009 in the role of Central Region Manager.

Canadian Black Book (CBB) has made changes to its front office. Cole Reiken has been named Vice-President of Digital Strategy and Products Management.

“We have an unmatched, dedicated team at Canadian Black Book, but these new additions to our senior management team will open doors for us to continue on our path of adaptation and innovation,” said Rome. “The auto business is in constant flux and the team we’ve assembled has been built to address the changing needs of our industry,” he adds.

Reiken has online and digital experience in both B2B and B2C segments. He has had roles in developing strategies for growing the capabilities and traffic of,, Auto Trader and eBay Motors.

"Canadian Black Book has shown time and again, its ability to see the opportunities within the industry and distribute its data and insights across multiple channels," said Reiken. “Having been in the office now for a few weeks, it’s obvious that I’m surrounded by keen auto industry talent, and this company’s direction towards innovative digital industry solutions, is abundantly clear to me.”

Richard Phillips has now become Vice-President of Business Development and Marketing, he joined CBB in late 2015 as a consultant. Phillips had worked on the agency side of the business for over 25 years, including spending time developing marketing and business strategies for OEMs.

Stephanie Smith has been named Manager, National Fleet Sales at Kia Canada Inc.

J. Raymond O'Kane has been appointed Executive Chair at Motoinsight. He has many years of automotive industry experience and was at BMO Bank of Montreal for 44 years, he most recently help the role of Vice President, OEM Strategy and Development, Automotive Finance, before retiring from the bank in July.

O’Kane will help in the continued growth and development of the company’s next generation MotoCommerce digital automotive retailing platform.

He was recently awarded the Industry Icon Award at the 2016 Canadian Black Book Golf Tournament.

Michael Dolan has been named Chief Information Security Officer of the fleet management business at Element Financial Corporation. He will be responsible for managing the information security program and related initiatives.

Gavin Allen has been named Vice-President, Sales at Mercedes-Benz Canada. Virginie Aubert has been promoted to the role of Vice-President, Marketing, which was held by Allen.

Nicolette Lambrechts.
Nicolette Lambrechts has been named Vice-President of Mercedes-Benz Vans effective January 1, 2017 at Mercedes-Benz Canada. She will be taking over for Pablo de la Peña who has returned to Mercedes-Benz España after over four years as VP of Mercedes-Benz Vans in Canada.

“While Mercedes-Benz only started to market and sell vans in Canada in 2010, we have seen significant growth over the last six years. During that time, our Sprinter and Metris Vans have received numerous Total Cost of Ownership and Best Residual Value awards,” said Brian D. Fulton, President and CEO, Mercedes-Benz Canada. “I would like to take this opportunity to thank Pablo and his team for the impressive infrastructure that has been built so far. I am very pleased to be welcoming Nicolette to this position. Lambrechts has been Managing Director of the Vans Division at Mercedes-Benz South Africa, since January 2014. She has been with Daimler since 2001, where she began as a Graduate Trainee, and has held numerous roles within the organization.

Stephen Perkins has been named Vice-President, Sales and Assistant General Manager at ARI Canada. Perkins has held leadership positions with several Fortune 500 companies including IBM and Hewlett-Packard, and Samsung where he served as the Vice-President of Sales and Marketing for their Enterprise Business division.

Perkins brings sales strategy, product management and marketing experience to his new role. He will be tasked with continuing ARI’s growth across Canada while also providing additional leadership support throughout the organization.

AALA is a national (in the United States) industry association consisting of commercial automotive fleet leasing and management companies.

Kathy Ward, CBB receives a commendation from John Malcomson, Tim Horton’s Children’s Foundation for the over $350,000 the Canadian Black Book Golf Tournament has raised for the charity over the years.
The 19th annual Canadian Black Book (CBB) Charity Golf Tournament was the setting for Brad Rome, President, to announce Kathy Ward’s retirement.

Ward began working at CBB in 1980 as an office administrator and from there went on to establish a successful sales position within a male dominated industry.

“My father was a tremendous leader and such a positive influence on me and on my career. I learned early, the best methods of sales and marketing suited to Canadian Black Book,” said Ward. “I was so fortunate to experience that, but I had to be tough.”

In 2010, she oversaw the launch of, where its data was released to consumers. This was a turning point as it helped to grow the company exponentially. “Kathy has the ability to find common ground in an instant,” said Brad Rome, President, CBB. “The relationships and leadership skills she brought to the table put this company in a position to continue to succeed.”

In 2015, she negotiated the sale of CBB to Hearst Business Media.

“As Kathy steps away from day-to-day operations, I know she is comforted by the fact that she is leaving Canadian Black Book in very capable hands with an energized management team and a thriving business that is well prepared for the future,” said Tom Cross, Executive Vice-President, Hearst Business Media. “Our sincere thanks go out to Kathy for her many years of exceptional leadership and to the Ward family for a partnership that has spanned over 55 years.”

David Williams has been named President and CEO at Porsche Financial Services Canada. He has been with Porsche Financial since 2014 as Director of Sales and Operations.

Hugh Martin has been named Head of Business Development for Canadian operations and as General Counsel for US business at Unicell. Hugh Martin is the son of Unicell President Roger Martin, and is the third generation of Martins in the truck body and equipment business.

“Growing up in Toronto, I would proudly point out Unicell trucks to my friends and say: ‘my dad made that truck.’ I’m excited to join Unicell and eager to contribute my talents and experience toward moving the company forward,” said Hugh Martin. “Hopefully in 10 years my own kids will be saying the same thing.”

Martin has previously worked as a lawyer in New York City, representing clients in the automotive industry, magazine wholesaling industry, fin-tech industry, among others. He is a New York-barred attorney and received law degrees from the University of Virginia and SciencesPo, in Paris. He has also spent time as an actor in New York City.

Neal Bodack has been named General Manager and Partner at Mercedes-Benz Durham, a part of Zanchin Automotive Group. Bodack will also be a member of the senior leadership team at the Zanchin Automotive Group.

“It’s a bittersweet time for me at this juncture. I was at Mercedes-Benz Canada for most of my career and I absolutely loved working for the three-pointed star in various capacities at both the corporate retail and wholesale levels,” said Bodack. “The company grew exponentially during my tenure and I learned so much over the years. I am proud of what we collectively achieved while I was part of the executive team and I am very excited to be able to take over the helm of an already well-established, privately-owned dealership within the Mercedes-Benz Canada dealer network, and bring its overall performance to the next level. I also very much look forward to working with Joe and the Zanchin Automotive Group.”

Bodack has been with Mercedes-Benz Canada since 1988, holding a number of senior positions in both retail and wholesale capacities during his tenure, most recently as Vice-President, National Sales responsible for new and pre-owned sales, remarketing and corporate sales.

Carol Kitchen, currently Vice-President Customer Service, will retire September 1, 2017 after 30 years with the company.

Daniel Martin, currently Vice-President Network Development will become Customer Service Director for Volvo Canada effective September 1, 2016. Martin has been in the automotive industry since 2001, and has been with Volvo since 2013.

John Farquharson has been named manager of operations for Canada at TradeRev.

Farquharson will be responsible for overseeing the support and arbitration departments and administrative operations throughout Canada. He will also be responsible for developing and improving processes that deliver customer service, as well as creating efficiencies that allow operations to be scalable with business growth.

Don Davis, is named Regional Vice-President, Southwest, Truck Sales. Davis has over 25 years experience in the transportation finance/fleet management industry. Jeff Holtshopple, is named Regional Vice-President, West, Truck Sales. Holtshopple brings over 20 years of finance industry experience. Larry Galasso, is named Regional Vice-President, Northeast, Truck Sales. Galasso brings over two decades of industry experience to Element.

Don Bailey, is named Residual Value Manager. Bailey brings extensive analytical and strategic financial planning experience to the Element team. Naeem Morris, is named Regional Vice-President, Midwest, Truck Sales. Morris spent the last two years as Senior Vice-President, Sales at GE Capital Fleet Services (now Element Fleet Management) managing high profile clients with an impressive 100 per cent retention rate.

Steve Byrd, CTP, is named Manager, Truck Services. Byrd has over three decades of transportation experience, with 10 years working at Element. Paola Bennett, is named Manager, Business Development. As manager of Business Development, Bennett will focus on assisting the team in the growth and maintenance of key accounts and manage the efforts of streamlining the reporting and data collection. An Element employee for four years, she previously served with the Strategic Consulting organization.

Brad Hewitt, is named Vice-President, National Accounts. Hewitt has worked in truck sales for Element since 2002 and recently earned a promotion to vice president. Hewitt is the reigning Element Sales Executive of the Year, a distinction he has earned for three consecutive years.

Bensel has been with Element for nearly 25 years and has held several leadership roles. His automotive industry experience includes stints at larger dealership chains. He holds accreditations including ICAR and ASE Master Technical certifications.

Jack Crawford Taylor

Jack Crawford Taylor, founder of Enterprise Holdings Inc., has passed away at the age of 94. Taylor was a US Navy fighter pilot in World War II, and founded Enterprise in 1957 (then called Executive Leasing).

“My father took a simple idea and created a great company,” said Andrew C. Taylor, Jack Taylor’s son and Enterprise Holdings’ current executive chairman. “We will miss him. But we will honor his memory every day as we live the values he instilled in our company – taking excellent care of our customers, encouraging and supporting each other and giving back to our communities.”

Taylor was born on April 14, 1922 in St. Louis, Missouri. He is survived by son Andrew C. Taylor, and daughter Jo Ann Taylor Kindle, five granddaughters, and two great-granddaughters.

Many members of the Taylor family are involved in EHI management. Andrew Taylor is the Executive Chairman, Jo Ann Taylor Kindle is the President of Enterprise Holdings Foundation, Christine Taylor (granddaughter of Jack Taylor) is Executive Vice-President and COO, and Carolyn Kindle-Betz (granddaughter of Jack Taylor) is Vice President and Executive Director – Enterprise Holdings Foundation.

Mark Rousseau has been named President at CarProof. Rousseau will oversee ongoing efforts to expand the scope of information reported to CarProof, develop vehicle history products and grow awareness of the CarProof brand. He will report to Dick Raines, President of Carfax.

She has been with SCI for just under a year in the customer experience department.

She has a background in customer service with Air Canada, preceded by a Sales, Business Mgmt. and Customer Care position at Harley Davidson.

She will be transitioning to the fleet department in June.

Mary McNeill has been named Marketing Director at Volvo Car Canada Ltd. McNeill will be responsible for global strategy execution in Canada, development of marketing activities supporting sales objectives, product launch execution, media planning, event management, public relations and implementation of digital and social media strategies for Volvo Canada.

McNeill has over 17 years of marketing experience including time with several automotive brands. McNeill has a Bachelor degree from York University and has completed executive marketing courses with Schulich School of Business.

Yumiko Kawamura has been appointed as President of Hino Motors Canada, Ltd. Kawamura takes over from Shuichi Kaneko, who has been assigned to the role of General Manager of Hino Motors Ltd., Europe and Africa Division.

She has over 20 years of experience with Hino Motors, Ltd. (Japan) and maintains extensive knowledge of selling and marketing Hino products to the North American market. Most recently, Kawamura was Group Leader of the Asia Oceania Market for Hino Motors, Ltd.

Paul Lips has been appointed as Chief Operating Officer at ADESA U.S. He now leads the entire U.S. auction operations group, which is being realigned from two to four regional groups.

“At ADESA, we are continually developing new strategies to ensure our customers have the best auction experience possible. The launch of four regions in place of two will enable us to further satisfy our customers’ needs, and better leverage our resources and multiple assets at KAR Auction Services,” said Stéphane St-Hilaire, CEO and President, ADESA. “Paul is a proven innovator and leader who has consistently strengthened our operations since joining the company nearly two decades ago. His unique blend of financial and operational expertise will be essential to driving this exciting change.”

Lips has held a variety of management roles since joining ADESA in 1996, most recently as executive vice president of operations and finance.

As a result of the new realignment, two new regional vice presidents have been named.

Jay Hinchman, was named vice president of U.S. auction operations in the new Midwest region. Hinchman has more than 20 years of experience in the auto remarketing industry.

Geoff Parker was named regional vice president of U.S. auction operations in the new Mideast region. Parker started his ADESA career in 2003 as the national accounts manager for ADESA Dallas.

Doug Shore was named senior vice president of auction operations and will oversee new auction integration and capital allocation.

Shaun C. Skinner, President of Isuzu Commercial Truck of Canada, will now become President of Isuzu Commercial Truck of America, Inc. (ICTA). Most recently Skinner was Executive Vice-President and GM of ICTA. He replaces Hisao Sasaki, who will return to Isuzu Motors Limited in Japan.

“After a 29-year career with Isuzu and more than eight years as executive vice president and general manager of Isuzu Commercial Truck of America, Mr. Skinner is being promoted to drive our relationship with our dealers and our customers even closer as we look to become more market- and customer-focused in the future,” said Shigeji Sugimoto, Chairman, Isuzu Commercial Truck of America.

Skinner joined American Isuzu Motors Inc., in June 1987, and moved to the company’s commercial vehicle division in 2002.

“I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to work more closely with our dealers and our customers as we come off a record sales year and as we look forward to launching the exciting new FTR next year,” said Skinner.

Adesa Canada, business unit of KAR Auction Services, has made changes to its auction management teams at ADESA Ottawa, ADESA Toronto and ADESA Halifax.

Scott Rennie has been named GM at ADESA Ottawa. He has been with ADESA for a number of years, most recently as Assistant GM of ADESA Toronto.

Richard Kennedy has been named Assistant GM at ADESA Toronto. He has been with ADESA Toronto since 1999, serving in a variety of roles. He was most recently GM of ADESA Halifax.

Kennedy will also work with all Canadian auctions to ensure consistency and superior customer service experiences in arbitration matters as Director of Arbitration.

James Murphy has been named GM of ADESA Halifax. He has been with ADESA Halifax since 2006, and was most recently Assistant GM.

Scott Campbell has been appointed Fleet and Remarketing Program Coordinator for Hyundai Canada. His responsibilities will be to support the continued expansion and development of Hyundai’s Fleet Services Department. Campbell has been with Hyundai since 2015, when he was named Traffic and Distribution Analyst for the Central Zone Operation.

Brian D. Fulton has been named President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz Canada effective May 1, 2016, succeeding Gareth T. Joyce.

Fulton is currently Vice President, Mercedes-Benz Financial Services (MBFS) and a member of the Daimler Financial Services (DFS) Americas region Operating Committee (OC). He will report to Dietmar Exler, President and CEO, MBUSA and NAFTA Regional Head.

Michael Rusch has been named to the role of President at Jim Pattison Lease.

Rusch has been with Jim Pattison Group since 1995 and with Jim Pattison Lease in increasing roles of responsibility since 2009, most recently as Chief Financial Officer. Rusch will contribute his expertise and industry knowledge to the strategic and operational direction of Jim Pattison Lease.

Rusch succeeds Steve Akazawa as President, who has been with the Company for over 30 years. In that time Jim Pattison Lease has grown into a national Canadian operation with offices in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, and Montreal.

Prior to Akazawa’s upcoming retirement, he will be leading the new partnership between Jim Pattison Lease and Location Park Avenue. Location Park Avenue is based in Montreal, Quebec and is one of the largest in-house long term vehicle leasing businesses in Quebec.

Masaharu Kondo has been named President at Mazda Canada Inc. (MCI), effective April 1, 2016. He takes over from Shusuke "Kory" Koreeda, who is moving to Mazda North American Operations.

Kondo has been with Mazda for 28 years in a variety of executive roles, most recently as Deputy General Manager of Global Sales & Marketing Division at Mazda Motor Corporation (MC),

Brian Murphy has been appointed as Vice-President of Research and Editorial at Canadian Black Book (CBB). Murphy takes over from Josh Bailey, effective April 12.

“Josh has been a mainstay at CBB for many years and his very valuable contributions will be missed. We wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavors,” said Brad Rome, President, CBB.

Murphy has a wealth of automotive experience, with five years at J.D. Power, as well as holding product planning, pricing, market research and marketing/advertising management positions for two OEMs.

“As Canadian Black Book’s new lead analyst, Brian will direct internal CBB efforts to help media, stakeholders and industry keep a pulse on the foremost Canadian automotive trends, building on CBB’s 50-plus years as Canada’s leading vehicle values provider," said Rome. "His prior positions in product management and marketing in the telecommunications sector bode well for the continued expansion of CBB’s digital solutions and I know that Brian will play a significant role supporting the growth and evolution of our business into the future,” added Rome.

Murphy holds a Bachelor in Administrative and Commercial Studies from University of Western Ontario and a Master of Business Administration from McMaster University.
