GM UNVEILS 2012 SEVEN PASSENGER CHEVROLET ORLANDO
General Motors Canada showed the new 2012 Chevrolet Orlando family vehicle to the media on a drive through Ontario to Windermere House in the Muskoka region. The drive demonstrated Orlando’s fuel economy, meeting the published 10.1 litres/100 kilometres city and 6.7 L/100km highway with a manual transmission, and 10.6L/100km city and 6.9L/100km highway with an automatic transmission.

For fleets needing people movers, the five-door Orlando offers seating for seven over three rows, using the same platform as the Chevrolet Cruze. This allows a low roofline and produces a vehicle, which can fit just about anywhere. During the drive, a short presentation showed 16 possible seating configurations and how when the two-rear row seats are folded, 1,595 L of cargo space is available.

“The new Orlando builds on Chevrolet’s fuel efficient and versatile product portfolio, offering a family friendly vehicle in a key segment in the Canadian market,” said Kevin Williams, President and Managing Director, GM Canada. “With its segment exclusive seven passenger seating and expected segment best fuel efficiency of any seven seat non-hybrid vehicle, Orlando will be a popular choice with Canadian families.”

Orlando’s fuel economy is 10.1 litres/100 kilometres city and 6.7 L/100km highway with a manual transmission, and 10.6L/100km city and 6.9L/100km highway with an automatic transmission.

Another important aspect of the selection process for fleets is driver safety. To that objective, Orlando offers four-wheel disc brakes with ABS, panic brake assist, and cornering brake control; traction control, six airbags, head restraints for all seats, a pedal release system, child-view mirrors, and standard OnStar.
