According to a new survey by Deloitte, US consumers want EV’s to cost less and go further compared to other jurisdictions. The 2022 Global Automotive Consumer Study from Deloitte, a global business consulting and services firm, found as global auto manufacturers continue to invest in electrified vehicle production, consumers still prefer internal combustion engines. Deloitte found 69% of U.S. consumers looking to retain the technology for their next vehicle. 

Even as more potential buyers express interest in EV’s more than half of U.S consumers are willing to pay more than $500.00 for alternative engine solutions. Along with unwillingness to pay more for electric vehicles, U.S consumers are even less willing to pay more than $500.00 for much of the advanced technology solutions being offered today like safety, connectivity and significantly, autonomy.
