In collaboration with the company Mack Truck, the Quebec company Boivin EVolution (BEV), specializing in automated dumpsters, has released the first 100% electric waste collection truck.

The functions of the BEV dumpster and the Mack chassis are fully electric, thanks to a battery that generates 100% fuel savings, the Lévis-based company said in a press release.

The electrification of the waste collection truck reduces energy costs by 80%, maintenance costs by 60% and 85 tons of greenhouse gases (GHG) per truck annually.

“The LRe electric chassis manufactured by Mack Truck and the Boivin EVolution (BEV) tipper are an important step for BEV, not only in the field of waste collection, but also from an environmental point of view,” said Claude. Boivin, president of Boivin EVolution.

“Reducing the environmental footprint by reducing fuel use, reducing GHG emissions or eliminating hydraulic spills are not only things that always remain at the top of our list of priorities, but they are an integral part of our mission,” added Mr. Boivin.
