BMW Canada invited guests to its BMW Luxury Lounge in Yorkville, Toronto between October 10th to 16th. Attendees were among the first worldwide to see the all-new 2019 BMW 8 Series Coupe along with the first-ever BMW X7. The German Auto Manufacturer partnered with several like-minded brands to bring this experience to customers. Roche Bobois, HUGO BOSS, Montblanc, LUMAS Canada and Samsung all contributed to furnishing the space.
“We’ve taken on this initiative because we believe customers’ expectations of luxury are evolving,” said Sebastian Beuchel, director, BMW brand management. “This beautifully designed space is a showcase for our interpretation of modern, contemporary luxury. It’s a sneak peek not only into the BMW ownership experience and lifestyle, but of course also at our newest additions to the luxury class, the all-new BMW 8 Series Coupé and first-ever BMW X7.”
The 8 Series will launch globally in November with two variants, the gas-powered 850i xDrive and the diesel 840d xDrive. Canada will not be getting the diesel variant, however the 850i will arrive by the end of the year.
The number 8 in the model name indicates the new vehicle’s high-ranking status within BMW’s product range. Powering the 850i is BMW’s new 4.4- litre TwinPower Turbo V8 engine that produces 523 horsepower and 553 lb-ft. of torque. The next generation V8 engine combined with lightweight carbon fibre technology, with advanced driver assistance systems and BMW’s all-new iDrive 7.0 technology brings top performance to this luxury class model.
Guests were also treated to seeing the first-ever BMW X7 on display in the lounge, the X7 is the newest member of BMW’s line up of Sports Activity Vehicles and is the company’s largest SUV.
The night gave Matthew Pawluk, Manager, Corporate, Direct and Special Sales the opportunity to connect with corporate sales customers and build existing relationships. When asked about the X7, Matthew commented “The size of the vehicle, combined with its performance and advanced technologies, makes the X7 a great pick for fleets and retail customers alike.”
