Fords love for its fleet customers and the segment was clearly evident at its recent 2019 Fleet Preview meeting. Hosted in Washington, DC, the three day event brought together Ford fleet team members, customers, upfitters and partners for meetings, and its popular ride and drive.
Kevin Koswick Ford North American Director Fleet, Lease and Remarketing, shared highlights of Fords commercial leadership and expanded on what he said were the industry’s “best people, products and processes” Kevin concluded his comments by saying “no one loves fleet the way Ford loves fleet.”
Mark Laneve, Ford Vice President Sales, Service and Marketing gave an update on the company’s financial health and shared more about how Ford’s portfolio strategy is mirroring fleet and retail customers shift into the the CUV and SUV space. Laneve told the audience that building on Fords winning lineup, 75 percent of its portfolio would be new by 2020.
As part of the business meeting, guests learned more about 2019 Ford products including the 3rd generation Transit Connect with standard automatic emergency braking, the recently released Ford Police Pursuit Vehicle and the 2019 midsize Ranger pick up, featuring a 10 speed automatic transmission.
Included in the meeting was a presentation from Lee Helene, CEO of Fords recently formed commercial solutions division who spoke about Fords factory embedded telematics solution for both large enterprise and smaller fleets. The meeting resonated with Ford customers, “The Ford fleet preview is a great opportunity to spend time with an important partner. We chose Ford for its reliable products and consistent service. At the conclusion of the business meeting guests convened at FedEx field, home of the NFL’s Washington Redskins for a ride and drive featuring hundreds of Ford and Lincoln products. The ride and drive included the Police Responder Drive, the All Ford lineup drive, the Smart Technology Experience and the always popular Mustang challenge.
Ford hosted its customers in style at the Canadian reception and at different Smithsonian museums and galleries across the city.
