The Ford Motor Company hosted over a thousand customers and partners at its 2020 Ford Fleet Preview Meeting in Denver “the mile high city”, Colorado. The three day event brought together Ford senior leadership, fleet team members, customers, upfitter’s and partners for meetings and popular ride and drive.
Over 45 Canadian fleet customers and partners had the opportunity to network and meet Ford of Canada’s entire fleet team during the Canadian reception. Afterwards, during the business meeting, guests had the chance to learn more about 2020 Ford products including the 4th generation Transit Connect with never before seen all-wheel-drive and embedded Ford Telematics and Ford Data Services. In addition to the all-new F-600, which promises to deliver the capability of a Class 6 truck – including a maximum GVWR of 22,000 pounds – in a Class 5 Super Duty package. Ford also highlighted its 2020 Ford Interceptor Police Pursuit Vehicle, the first ever hybrid pursuit rated vehicle as well as the all-new 2020 Ford Escape and PHEV Escape.
Mark Buzzell, Director North American Fleet, Lease and Remarketing, Ford and former Ford Canada President and CEO, thanked those in attendance, and emphasized Ford’s dedication to its customers and their business’s. Mark also highlighted some of Ford’s strategic decisions that will shape its future, including replacing 75% of their line up by the end of 2020, a 90% allocation of investments into pick-up trucks, vans and utility vehicles, an $11 billion dollar investment in EV’s and a focus on building strategic alliances. Above all, Mark spoke to the core of Ford’s business--its people and customers and the trusted partnership between them.
Included in the business meeting was a presentation from Michelle Moody, Global Marketing Director for Ford Commercial Solutions. Michelle spoke about Fords factory embedded telematics solution for both large enterprise and smaller fleets. For all 2020 Ford vehicles, factory embedded telematics will come standard.
On the second day of the event, fleet professionals braved the elements to attend the Ride & Drive at the exclusive Gaylord Rockies Resort and Convention Centre. The Ride and Drive featured hundreds of Ford and Lincoln vehicles including the F-150, Escape, Ranger, Transit, Explorer, Expedition, Mustang and more. The Ride & Drive also featured a variety of special activities including a “vehicle pod” product immersion which gave guests a more in depth look at the Ford Escape and F-600 Super Duty. The event also featured a multi-terrain drive course with a Ford Engineer to test the Transit Connects AWD capabilities. A record number of 60 exhibitors also had their products and services on display in the expo hall for guests to experience.
When asked about the event and Ford Fleet, Rod Place, Director Global Fleet & Tools for Worley had this to say, “Our fleet in Canada is comprised of almost 99% Ford vehicles. We choose Ford for their commitment to their customers and technology but also for the quality and durability of their vehicles.”
On the last night of Ford’s MY2020 Preview Show, guests broke out their cowboy boots and blue jeans to be treated to a dinner reception at the Grizzly Rose Saloon & Concert Hall, recognized by the Country Music Association as one of the “top clubs in the country.”

It’s a big year for Ford Fleet as 2020MY will see the largest commercial vehicle launch in the history of Ford Motor Company. I would like to thank the customers in attendance for investing their time as they made the meeting a great success!”
