Mitsubishi introduced the 2018 Outlander to Greater Toronto fleet operators as part of its 5 city cross Canada tour series recently. Attendees learned about the 2018 Outlander’s electric, series and parallel hybrid drive modes as well as its achieving a 3.2L/100km combined fuel economy rating during a brief presentation. The presentation also covered the Outlanders unique status as the only plug in hybrid, all wheel drive SUV on the market.
After the presentation, guests took to the roads to experience the Outlander PHEV’s 5 seat roomy interior and deft handling thanks to its Super All-wheel Control (S-AWC) system, built on the strength of Mitsubishi’s long history of world rally competition. During the drive portion of the event, attendees learned more about how the Outlander’s 2.0L gas engine and front and rear wheel motors work in combination to minimize CO2 emissions while maximizing fuel economy. The Outlander PHEV’s safety credentials were on full display for drivers and passengers alike to experience the SUV’s multi view camera (MVCS) and rear cross traffic alert (RCTA) systems.
Other advanced technologies on the Outlander PHEV include Blindspot warning with lane change assist, forward collision mitigation with pedestrian detection and adaptive cruise control systems.
