Utility Fleet operators came together from across Canada for the 28th annual Canadian Utility Fleet Forum, held in Toronto recently. The conference covered a wide variety of topics including the use of back up camera’s, proximity alarms, re-torquing programs, the use of drones and more. Of special interest was the session on electronic logbook (ELD) compliance and impact on utility fleet operations, presented by Mike Millian, President of the Private Motor Truck Council (PMTC). The conference also featured updates on technician certification and equipment standards. Discussion panels and vendor One on One session gave attendees ample opportunity to speak with a variety of utility fleet product and service subject matter experts.
Mike “Pinball” Clemons, famed CFL running back and coach treated forum attendees to a special keynote address. The forum included a vendor expo featuring over 25 product and service providers. The Forum left time for networking opportunities from “meet and greet” sessions through to a culminating dinner and entertainment featuring comedian Ryan Dillon.
