New compressed natural gas busses from BC Transit hit the streets of Greater Victoria with help from the FortisBC incentive program. The program provided over $2.4 million dollars of incentive funding for BC Transit buses operating across the province in the communities of Whistler, Nanaimo, Kamloops, Abbotsford and now the Greater Victoria area.

BC Transit is a local transportation company and by adding more busses fuelled by compressed natural gas to its fleets, it's taking action against climate change. 46 heavy-duty CNG busses and 25 medium-duty busses are being implemented into the fleet. They’re factory grade NGVs manufactured by New Flyer.

Advancing natural gas in commercial transportation is a key component of how FortisBC wants to achieve its 30BY30 Target – a goal to reduce its customers’ greenhouse gas emissions by 30 per cent by 2030. It’s among the most ambitious emissions reductions targets in the Canadian utility sector.
