Hyundai recently announced its plans to expand its lineup of electrified vehicles to thirteen in the next three years. By 2022, Hyundai will offer six sedans and seven crossovers with electric, hybrid or plug-in hybrid powertrains.
The plan will begin with the launch of the 2020 Ioniq that will be unveiled at the LA Auto Show, this November and a redesigned Sonata Hybrid that is scheduled to debut at the Chicago Auto Show in February. The remaining eight models will be released over the next three years.
“As the automotive industry evolves to meet the needs of a diverse customer base and environmentally-aware society, we will continue to provide alternative-propulsion options in a variety of product choices,” said Mike O’Brien, vice president of Product, Corporate and Digital Planning, Hyundai Motor America. “For consumers seeking forward-thinking and eco-friendly personal transportation options, Hyundai’s product line-up meets these criteria and more.”
