Workhorse Group Inc. has unveiled its new C650 all-electric step van.

The company's new C650 and C1000 step vans are 650 cubic foot and 1000 cubic foot vehicles respectively, and both weigh approximately 12,500 lbs. when fully loaded.

By using a lightweight, composite, monocoque construction method, Workhorse has been able to decrease their vehicles' curb weights when compared to legacy models, while still providing the same cargo volume capacity.

Workhorse C Series vehicles use a modular battery pack system. The standard configuration is four packs, which provides 70 kWh. Depending on the size of battery pack installation, range is expected to be between 160 and 240 km on a single charge, while achieving approximately 4.4 litres/100 km gasoline equivalent (MPGe).

Workhorse also currently has the only patent approved for a delivery-truck-mounted drone system, which has been shown to further increase last mile efficiency.

"A combination of lightweight design, modular battery pack, and a four-wheel independent suspension system with rear air shocks makes our new C650 unlike any electric vehicle on the market," said Duane Hughes, Workhorse CEO.

The C650 all-electric Step Van will be at the NTEA Work Truck Show in Booth #941 from March 4-6, 2020.
